Otherworld Gifts - Road trip to Mentone, Alabama

Otherworld Gifts in Mentone, Alabama

Otherworld Gifts cabin in Mentone
We were looking for a road trip that we could comfortably do in a day from Huntsville, Alabama. We found that with a 73 mile trip to Mentone, Alabama. Specifically, we went to the Log Cabin Craft Village in Mentone to visit a quaint little cabin gift shop our friends had bragged about aptly named 'Otherworld Gifts'. The drive, heading out on US 72 E, was absolutely beautiful and the closer we got to Mentone, the more beautiful it got. We briefly toured the town, but tried to focus on our intended destination of Otherworld Gifts ...this was a difficult task, with so much beauty to take in. We will definitely return to explore more of the area. The area is full of camps, bed and breakfast lodging, touring, etc. We were on the Harley and this was a biker road trip not to be forgotten. As we arrived at the small log cabin on Saturday, we were greeted by the sweetest and most down-to-earth couples we have met (Bill and Betty) and their niece Bri (pronounced Bree). They run this little shop. We were amazed at the variety of wonderful soaps and teas. We even did a tarot reading. Very cool. The shop has handcrafted items like the hand-cut soaps of so many fragrances, as well as and item i loved and had to strap to the bike ...a walking cane that was hand carved by Bill.

I don't NEED a cane, but this beauty couldn't be resisted and now sits displayed just inside my front door at home. Like a good movie, i don't want to spoil the adventure by describing all we found in the shop, so take a road trip! Open your eyes to an Other World.
